THE FIRST ANNUAL QUEER AND TRANS OLDTIME MUSIC GATHERING
HAS BEEN CANCELLED due to Corona Virus. We still love you!
As we enter the start of the third year with COVID-19 as a full-time element in every life decision, it is with regret that we are canceling this event. We have tried to carry this torch but with so much uncertainty and no particular hope for a different pandemic season on the horizon, it isn't possible for us to sit on this dream any longer. Ideally, we had hope to fund and host the first gathering in 2020, and then pass the organizing on to other folx. It would have been really delightful, and we would have loved to spend time together, but for now we are setting any obligation to a timeframe or set of ideas free! We were delighted by the community response to this idea, and hope the possibility it embodied stays with you.
If you have paid for the festival via PayPal, we have refunded you either at your request in 2020 or today. If you'd like to donate the amount, we fondly recommend our friends at Bluegrass Pride.
Thank you all for your support, encouragement, and enthusiasm along the way. We do have an awful lot of stickers and we would be happy to mail anyone a handful.

We will curate a fun, accessible, and engaging once yearly gathering that fosters the unique talents and proclivities of queer and trans vernacular performers. We will create pathways for the advancement and relevance of LGBTQ+ people and issues in traditional music and dance and beyond.
THE FIRST YEAR WILL BE...
1) Focused on inviting LGBTQ+ leaders, movers, and shakers in the Oldtime and Vernacular music community.
2) In order to exchange queer and trans ideas, art, music, and resources.
3) And to facilitate discussion between current and future organizers, addressing fundraising, leadership, core concepts and values.
4) To generate institutional knowledge and generate momentum for future gatherings.
SOME PRINCIPLES…
-We will ensure that a second and third gathering occurs.
-We anticipate 30% of our first-time registrants will ask for or need financial assistance/a fee waiver to attend.
